A pigging technology for in-line inspection of products pipeline

  • Periodic pigging for products pipeline is conducive to improve transmission efficiency and products quality and check seriously deformed pipesection, so as to lay the foundation for the implementation of in-line inspection and increase the data acquisition accuracy and data quality of in-line inspection. In this paper, the operating principles and characteristics of three types of pigs for products pipelines were introduced systematically. Then, the technical requirements on pigs before the in-line inspection were proposed. Finally, some problems were discussed, including the selection of pigging speed in the stage of pigging operation, the judgment of approval standards at each stage and the key technologies for receiving, tracing and locating. The research results provide guidance for the pigging operation before the in-line inspection of products pipelines.
