Risk of mixed transportation of low pour point oil and high pour point oil in No.1 Xinda Pipeline

  • The transportation of high pour point oil at normal temperature by diluting the high pour point oil with low pour point oil can reduce not only the investment in heating equipment of long-distance pipelines in the early stage, but also the fuel consumption in the process of oil transportation. In this paper, the operation parameters during the mixed transportation of low pour point oil and high pour point oil in No.1 Xinda Pipeline were analyzed, and 5 actual problems in the process of mixed transportation were identified. Then, each problem was analyzed and the corresponding countermeasures were proposed, so as to provide the beneficial reference for the transportation safety of high pour point oil at normal temperature.
