Layout of nozzles in the self-propelled pipeline cleaning sprinkler

Abstract
Self-propelled rotary sprinkler is the key executive component of the high-pressure water jet cleaning device used in the operation of pipeline cleaning. To ensure that the self-propelled rotary sprinkler can self-propel and rotate stably in the process of pipeline cleaning, the influence of the layout factors (i.e., number of nozzles, included angle and eccentricity) on the movement and cleaning effect of the self-propelled rotary sprinkler was analyzed in this paper. Then, rotary sprinkler, non-rotary sprinkler and eccentricity free sprinkler were compared from the aspects of nozzle layout and cleaning effect. It is concluded that the number of nozzles, the included angle and the eccentricity are the key factors to ensure the self-propelling and rotating of the sprinkler and they are interdependent. Finally, the key design points involved in nozzle layout were put forward. In this way, a reasonable and efficient method for the layout of nozzles in rotary sprinklers is developed, which can ensure the stable movement of the self-propelled rotary sprinkler, and improve the efficiency of high-pressure water cleaning.
