Application feasibility of flexible lining in the tank body of products oil tanker

In this paper, a scheme to install flexible lining in the tank body of products oil tanker for road transportation was proposed to enhance its safety in the process of road transportation and reduce the possibility of oil leakage caused by sudden events, e.g. traffic accidents. When the tank body of tanker is equipped with the flexible lining, its storage room is not reduced owing to shaping. And besides, due to the flexibility of the lining, the oil vapor space in the tank shrinks, so respiratory loss and explosion risk are reduced. When the steel tank is damaged or even cracked due to traffic accidents or other external forces, the flexible tank can protect the oil products from leakage and prevent the secondary safety and environmental protection accidents.
