Simulation on the whole water commissioning process of hilly products pipelines

Abstract
Commissioning is the key link for the safe operation of products pipelines, so it is necessary to prepare a reliable commissioning scheme in advance. At present, however, most of the commissioning schemes are prepared on the basis of practical experience and they cannot precisely predict the hydraulic condition of each point along the pipeline during the commissioning. In order to ensure the safety of hilly products pipelines during the commissioning, mathematical models were established corresponding to three stages of water commissioning. Then, by virtue of these models, the hydraulic parameters along the whole hilly products pipeline in the process of commissioning were calculated, and the distribution locations and lengths of the slack flow sections along the whole pipeline during the water-filling and pigging were predicted. Moreover, the pump plan for each stage of commissioning was provided and the volume of oil-water mixture and the location of oil-water interface during oil-water replacement were monitored. The research results can provide reference for the preparation of commissioning scheme of hilly products pipelines.
