The role of cobweb pipeline network system in the development of natural gas industry and its enlightenment

Large scale natural gas pipeline network should be constructed scientifically and rationally to promote the development of natural gas industry. In this paper, the cobweb natural gas pipeline network system in Sichuan and Chongqing area was taken as an example to study the historical origin, structure characteristics and advantages of cobweb pipeline network system and its special role in the development of natural gas industry. It is indicated that the core value of cobweb pipeline network system is to improve the coverage density and market adaptability of pipeline network by looped, reticular and pressure distribution layouts, so as to promote the development of the market efficiently. Its main role in the development of natural gas industry is to ensure safe and stable gas supply, cultivate the market efficiently, create the complete industry chain and promote its development coordinately, interconnect the markets inside and outside the area, and achieve the features and advantages of integrated management. And it is enlightened that the top-level design shall be strengthened to guide the cobweb layout of large-scale regional pipeline network, the logistics system of natural gas transportation shall be built up to assist the construction of modern natural gas market system, and a new ecological situation of natural gas supply shall be created based on the cobweb pipeline network system according to the market demand.
