Abstract
In this paper, the hydrogen damage behavior of L245 pipeline steel in the environment of high H2S content was studied by means of H2S corrosion simulation experiment in order to understand material adaptability of oil/gas pipelines in wet H2S environment. It is shown that the uniform corrosion rate of L245 pipeline steel is relatively low in high H2S environments and the maximum corrosion rate is no more than 0.045 mm/a. The failure is mainly in the form of hydrogen blister (HB) and sulfide stress corrosion cracking (SCC). And it is necessary to strengthen equipment detection or improve the material grade and take the protective measures in advance especially when H2S mass concentration is over 8000 mg/L.
