Steady-state operation optimization of pipeline network based on dynamic programming method and advanced genetic algorithm

Abstract
In this paper, a steady-state optimization model with the energy consumption and cost minimization of gas pipeline network as the objective was established by using gas transportation theory and optimization method to reduce the operation cost of natural gas pipeline network and realize energy saving and consumption reduction. Then, the operation scheme of Sichuan-East Gas Pipeline was optimized by means of dynamic programming method and advanced genetic algorithm. Finally, the optimization result was compared with the optimization scheme of commercial optimization software SynerGEE-Gas. It is indicated that by virtue of this optimization scheme, the full-pipeline operation energy consumption decreases by 2.92 MW, with decreasing amplitude of 4.4% under the designed gas transportation rate of first stage of Sichuan-East Gas Pipeline is adopted. The research results can be used as the guidance for safe, economical and reliable operation of natural gas pipelines.
