Influential factors and suggestions on the offtake design of China-Russia Eastern Gas Pipeline Mingshui branch pipeline station

  • The construction of China-Russia East Gas Pipeline in Northeast China is faced with a series of problems, e.g., low ambient temperature, economic downturn and the operating pressure of trunk pipeline which is much higher than the pressure demanded by users. In this paper, the design of the Mingshui branch pipeline was taken as an example for study. The selection of the lowest design temperature and the requirement on the pipeline toughness index under the design temperature were discussed. Then, solutions to the intermittent transportation caused by economic downturn were put forward correspondingly, and the solving methods for the throttling energy loss caused by pressure regulation and the energy consumption caused by heating were proposed correspondingly from the perspective of energy conservation. The research results can be used as the guide and reference for the offtake design of stations of natural gas branch pipelines in Northeast China in the future.
