Development of performance monitoring system used for turbine-driven compressor set

  • In order to reduce the mechanical faults effectively during the operation of turbine-driven compressor set and ensure its smooth operation, it is necessary to study the performance monitoring of turbine-driven compressor set. In this paper, the typical failures of gas turbines in recent years were analyzed, including compressor blade shedding & damage, turbine blade ablation and nozzle ablation. Then, the measuring point arrangement and the performance monitoring parameters were investigated. Finally, the core calculation framework for performance monitoring of turbine-driven compressor set was designed, and the performance monitoring system was developed. The main functions of this system include fault pre-warning, performance parameter trend display, performance attenuation discrimination and so on. The health status of compressor set is judged based on the operation state parameter monitoring of gas turbine, the operation trend and the performance attenuation, combined with the on-site actual operation situations and maintenance & repair data. The field application effects of this performance monitoring system for turbine-driven compressor sets are remarkable with reduced compressor unit scram, optimized maintenance & repair period and economic maintenance & repair cost.
