Problems in the field of Jintan Salt-Cavern Gas Storage and their countermeasures

  • In Jintan Salt-Cavern Gas Storage, caverns are built step by step by means of single-well dual-tubing oil cushion method. Due to the complicated underground conditions, salt cavities may encounter many problems during the construction of salt-cavern gas storage, such as wellhead leakage, wellbore leakage, abnormal blanket interface, leaching string failure and cavity leakage. If the problems cannot be found in time and measures are not taken correspondingly, some adverse consequences will occur, e.g. uncontrolled blanket interface, interrupted leaching and cavity volume loss. In Jintan Salt- Cavern Gas Storage, the on-site problems are solved in the leaching process. Thus, complete countermeasures and monitoring system for leaching sites are developed, the experience to deal with abrupt leaching anomaly is accumulated, the leaching continuity is ensured effectively and the leaching period is shortened. It provides the theoretical basis and technological support for the subsequent construction of salt cavern gas storages.
