Design of remote control system for compressor sets of long-distance gas pipelines

  • PetroChina Oil & Gas Pipeline Control Center can not perform direct remote control on compressor sets of long-distance gas pipelines, resulting in delayed adjustment of pipeline operation. In order to solve this problem, a new design principle and program on remote control of compressor sets was proposed with Yanchi Station in West-to-East Gas Pipeline as an example, and the corresponding remote control system was developed by using the existing hardware platform. By virtue of this remote control system, the compressor sets can be controlled directly by the operator stations of PetroChina Oil & Gas Pipeline Control Center for start, stop and load adjustment. In the meantime, the process control states of the compressor sets are transmitted and displayed on the man-machine interface in the Center. And the working points of the compressor sets are calculated by the field data and then displayed on the characteristic curves of the flow rate and pressure ratio of the compressor itself. Based on remote control, dispatchers can know and focus on the key operation status of compressor sets timely so as to optimize the operation scheme of pipeline network, complete its overall scheduling rapidly and improve its efficiency.
