Initial research on the application architecture of Internet of Things in the integrity management of long-distance pipelines

  • In recent years, enterprise informatization has been basically realized in major domestic long-distance pipelines with the popularization of informatization and long-distance pipeline integrity management technologies. Therefore, the overall management and control capacity of pipeline safety is improved dramatically. Due to multiple factors (e.g. personnel quality and environmental conditions), however, there is still great room for the improvement of data acquisition in terms of timeliness, integrity and accuracy. In this paper, the application of the Internet of Things (IOT) technology in the operation of long-distance pipelines at home and abroad was investigated. And the application architecture for long-distance pipeline IOT was put forward combined with the application architecture and business status of CNPC's existing pipeline integrity management systems (PIS). By virtue of the integration, the basic data and business data of pipeline operation and management could be acquired timely, accurately and completely. Furthermore, the intelligence and precision of pipeline integrity management could be realized. Obviously, it is favorable for promoting the safety and economic benefits of longdistance pipelines.
