Adaptability of robotic in-service inspection technology for oil storage tank floor

  • Aiming at to the application of the robotic technology in the in-service quantitative inspection on defects of oil storage tank floor, its inspection principle was illustrated in detail. Based on the structure characteristics of oil storage tanks in China, adaptability of the technology in our country was analyzed in terms of economical efficiency, safety, inspection requirements, reliability of inspection results and influence of tank structures. It is indicated that the internal structure of tanks is an important factor affecting the application of the robotic technology. It is suitable for most tanks except the crude oil tanks with complex heating coils. And it is reliable and effective with obvious advantages in terms of other indicators. This technology satisfies the requirements for tank maintenance in China, presenting strong adaptability.
