Preliminary preparation and performance testing of composite oil product DRA

  • Current oil product drag reducing agents (DRAs) composed of high molecular polymers are poor in shear resistance capacity. In order to solve this problem, a new type of composite oil product DRA was proposed in this paper. Firstly, nano-particles were combined with polymer DRA. Then, the performance of inorganic nano-particles (SiO2, montmorillonite, V2O5, CaCO3 and TiO2) was modified by using silane coupling agents. And finally, the modified nano-particles were combined with self-made interface compatible agent and polymer α-alkene together to prepare the new DRA. It is shown from the loop drag reduction testing that the DRA with nano-SiO2 and nano-montmorillonite is the best in shear resistance capacity. Compared with traditional DRAs, this composite oil product DRA is 200% higher in shear resistance capacity and better in drag reduction and transportation boosting performance.
