Key points in the construction process of natural gas metrological verification stations

  • In order to improve installation accuracy and efficiency and reduce errors during the installation of natural gas metrological verification stations, the key points were proposed in this paper for the construction process of natural gas metrological verification stations on the basis of practical installation experience. Such key points involve the installation of the straight pipe sections, and the purging, hydrostatic test and cleaning of process lines. As for the installation of working ends and verification benches, the key point is "zero stress" installation of straight pipe sections and the installation sequence of the straight pipe sections and expansion joints. The key point during pipe purging is to purge DN300-DN600 pipelines with auxiliary tools. The lock screws of expansion joints shall be fixed well in the process of pipeline hydrostatic tests. During pipeline cleaning, attention shall be paid to the design of operating pits and the removal of the free water out of the pipe. This paper provides theoretical reference for the construction of similar metrological verification stations.
