An intelligent emergency response system for failure of oil and gas pipeline

  • Under existing emergency response systems for oil and gas pipelines in China, there are no early-warning against secondary disasters, coordination and direction are inconvenient, and system documents can not be both pertinent and adaptable. Accordingly, an intelligent emergency response system for pipeline failure has been developed. The system is composed by emergency response, early-warning against secondary disasters, intellectual rescue procedures, and emergency coordination system. The emergency response program for the Sichuan-East Gas Pipeline Project was modified to generate multiple operational procedures for specific operations. Through reviewing, discussion and exercises of these procedures on site, the intelligent inquiry system for emergency rescue procedures was developed. The system can automatically generate emergency response procedures for specific failures to eliminate possibility of confusion. Based on information technologies, the intelligent emergency response system for oil and gas pipelines can offer much superior performance. It can be taken as the optimal measure to enhance emergency handling capacity for failures involving oil and gas pipelines.
