Construction and operation of gas pipeline corridor worldwide

Abstract
The construction of gas pipeline corridor has become an important factor in urban sustainable development. In China, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd West-to-East Gas Pipelines have been completed and put into operation. To build the following 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th pipelines, the technology and experience of the existing pipelines should be used, and the concepts of pipeline corridor construction in other countries should be referred to, especially Russia's experience in construction technology, transmission process, equipment, program, and risk assessment technology. Through combing the mature construction concept of corridor-parallel gas pipeline in Europe, and the concepts of valve chamber jumper technology in the U.S. and the construction technology, expansion ways and modular design of combined gas compressor stations and terminals of deep sea pipelines along intercontinental pipeline corridor, and based on existing technology in China, measures are taken to optimize on the construction of long-distance gas pipeline corridors. Moreover, the regulations for pipelines/corridors should be revised and improved. All these actions are carried out to ensure the smooth corridor construction and safe operation of the West-to-East Gas Pipeline in China.
