Dual-Duffing-oscillator-based leakage detection system for natural gas pipeline

  • To detect leakages of natural gas pipeline quickly and accurately, a leakage detection system with dual-Duffing-oscillator for natural gas pipeline is developed on principles related to pickup of weak signal by chaotic oscillators. On bases of conventional single Duffing oscillator, another line of signals is added to suppress periodical movements and common mode interference with exports of single Duffing oscillator, so that effective chaotic state is highlighted truly, and accuracy and sensitivity of the detection system are significantly enhanced. This new system has been tested for several times in the Qazaq Autonomous Prefecture of Ili. Relevant results show that the dual-Duffing-oscillator detection system can effectively detect leakages in natural gas pipelines. With fast speed and high accuracy, the new system may be promoted to similar operations.
