Design and management of adsorption hydrocarbon recovery system in product oil tankfarm

  • With outstanding economic and environmental benefits, adsorption hydrocarbon recovery systems are extensively adopted in product oil tankfarms in recent years. With consideration to main features and locations of hydrocarbon volatilization, oil and gas transmission can be determined as the key sector with oil and gas volatilization. Through reviewing of hydrocarbon recovery system design and selection of optimal techniques, advantages of adsorption over absorption, condensation and membrane separation have been displayed. All factors that may affect performances of the hydrocarbon recovery system shall be considered jointly as a component of the hydrocarbon recovery system. Through summarization of experiences in operation and management of adsorption hydrocarbon recovery system, it was determined that satisfactory operation performances can be obtained only through combination of sophisticated facilities and scientific management. Relevant research results may provide necessary references to enhance hydrocarbon recovery rates by using hydrocarbon recovery system in product oil tankfarms.
