Research status of reliability evaluation of gas pipeline network

  • Along with the thriving development of pipeline industry and the enlarging application of clean energy, the demand for natural gas and requirement for gas supply are on the rise. The reliability of gas pipeline network is of great importance. This paper analyzes the relation between the pipeline integrity management and the pipeline reliability, gives a brief introduction to the development of reliability evaluation on gas pipeline network in some countries, compares some typical reliability design approaches and standards for long-distance gas pipelines, and illustrates the history of reliability evaluation of pipeline network in China. Combined with major approaches and principles for reliability evaluation on gas pipeline network, this paper preliminarily discusses the feasibility and difficulties of available approaches of reliability evaluation on pipeline network, providing reference for the theoretical study and practice of approaches of reliability evaluation on pipeline network.
