Abstract
Conventional regeneration process of mono ethylene glycol (MEG) in the development of deep-water gasfield doesn't include the desalination and impurities removal, which may lead to serious corrosion and scaling of regenerative apparatus. This paper introduces a new process of MEG regeneration which is widely applied abroad, where the saliferous MEG solution is evaporated in a vacuum to obtain the saltless MEG barren solution. This process can mitigate the corrosion and scaling problem greatly, but the MEG regenerative apparatus still corrode effected by high temperature, negative pressure and chloridion. Base on the above, it is the primary factor to correctly choose the corrosion inhibitor, so, this paper makes a principle to select it. Once the corrosion problem of MEG regenerative apparatus is solved, not only the service life of pipeline and equipment can be extended, but also the new MEG regeneration process can be promoted widely in China.
