Abstract
In the cavity building process of Jintan Underground Gas Storage, salt cavern partial melting emerges frequently, which brings significantly adverse effects on the cavern volume, progress of cavity building, gas injection and brine discharge, and operational safety. Therefore, sonar data, continuous inclinometer data, string ascension records, as-built records, the original cavern design and other information of 28 cavity building wells in Jintan Underground Gas Storage are statistically analyzed. The results show that the offset directions of many wells of Jintan Underground Gas Storage are clear that are mostly northward and locally southward; the salt cavern partial melting direction is usually consistent with the well trajectory offset direction. Thus, it is proposed that salt cavern partial melting and well deviation have a close relationship, and it is initially determined that ground stress has a certain effect on salt cavern partial melting.
