Necessity and challenges of CNPC overseas pipeline integrity management

  • For the needs of safe and stable operation of national strategic oil and gas channels, based on the basic characteristics of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) overseas oil and gas pipelines, the necessity of overseas oil and gas pipeline integrity management is discussed. Considering the technical demand for safe operation of CNPC overseas pipeline and the characteristics of pipeline integrity management techniques, technical challenges in the integrity management are analyzed. To improve the safety level of overseas pipeline and avoid the loss of overseas investment, integrity management techniques should be applied in overseas pipelines as soon as possible. In practical application, the research and application of such techniques in other entities in China should be referred, so as to give full play to the overall technology advantage of CNPC.
