Statistical analysis of test results of external coating for Rizhao-Dongming Oil Pipeline

External coating is significant for the security management of oil pipelines. The "PCM+A"(ACVG) method is adopted to test the external coating of Rizhao-Dongming Oil Pipeline for its anticorrosion performance. Moreover, the sections of the pipeline are classified by magnitude of anticorrosion performance, and the damage points of the external coating are obtained. The statistical analysis shows that most damage points are observed at upstream and downstream of crossing pipe section, slope thrust pier, reinforced pier, grade change points and elbows of the pipeline, and at bypass and globe valves in valve chambers, because there are lots of welds and joint coatings at these positions; at the part of the pipeline that is intersected with roads, the anticorrosion performance of external coating is relatively poor. Therefore, all these parts will be especially detected for their external coatings and specifically considered in design and construction.
