Application of data model of subsea pipeline based on PODS

  • Subsea pipeline is the main artery of oil/gas transportation in the offshore resources development. In order to ensure its safety and reliability, the integrity management is essential and inevitable. Integrity management, a mass data management in nature, requires an effective data model to achieve efficient management and utilization of a large number of data of integrity management. Combining the situations in China and actual needs for development and production of offshore oil and gas resources, CNOOC (China) established the data model SUPPODS1.0 according to the characteristics of subsea pipeline integrity management, which was extended and upgraded on the basis of standard PODS5.0 model. With this data model, CNOOC (China) developed the integrity management system of subsea pipeline. The pipeline browser and other functions of the integrity management system can be used to display actual effect of SUPPODS1.0 model.
