The standards system of oil and gas pipeline based on the whole lifecycle concept

  • Whole lifecycle, in an oil and gas pipeline project, is a new concept, namely, the oil and gas pipeline embodies energy saving, environmental protection, sustainability and other strengths at each stage of its whole lifecycle, such as preliminary planning, design, construction, operation and abandonment. Based on this concept, the core goal and green goal of oil and gas pipeline standards system are put forward. The former considers the reliability and economic optimization of the project, while the latter considers the social and environmental impacts. According to the existing oil and gas pipeline standards, this paper presents the standards system structures at three stages, i.e. preliminary planning, engineering construction and operations management. Moreover, this paper discusses the standards in above three stages for core goal and green goal, and raises the further understanding and requirements for the whole lifecycle standards system of oil and gas pipeline.
