Construction of 3D long-distance pipeline information system based on ArcGIS Engine

  • For digital management of long-distance oil and gas pipelines, a 3D long-distance pipeline information system is proposed. It is designed with the data along the pipeline measured by TOPCON precision RTK system, using Visual Studio 2008 and C#-a user-friendly programming language. The system also combines ArcGIS Engine (a re-development module) and uses File GeoDatabase and SQL Server 2005 database to distribute and store data. Application in a long-distance pipeline in Northeast China shows that the system can realize 2D to 3D linkage scene display, layered management of maps, pipeline information inquiry, pipeline data maintenance, map output and other functions, providing a decision-making support to the operation management of long-distance pipelines.
