Pipeline integrity management system based on information ecology theory

  • For large pipeline operating companies, the integrity management can be truly realized with the help of existing management concepts and techniques. It is increasingly important to promote their harmony and sustainability. This paper presents a model of information ecosystem for pipeline integrity management in PetroChina Pipeline Company, which is formed by considering the construction and promotion of PetroChina's Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIS) and its application in pipeline integrity management practices. The model emulates the recycle of natural ecosystem, and generates "ecological chains" between standards, data, services, tools, external systems and users through information flow in an open, orderly, cooperative and win-win principle, using technical and management means. It can provide a concept and guidelines to the sustainable development of PetroChina pipeline integrity management.
