Electrostatic hazard identification and prevention measures at tankfarm

In the light of difficulty in preventing electrostatic fire and explosion accidents at tankfarm, electrostatic hazards and content at tankfarm are analyzed in this paper. A classification identification method of "point, line, face" for electrostatic hazards is put forward. Different electrostatic discharge forms and the probable parts of "point, line, face" are analyzed. The principle and process mechanism of electrostatic fire and explosion accidents at tankfarm are expounded. The reasons leading to electrostatic accident are pointed out, and the safety precautions are proposed, including grounding and jumper, safety check, preventing the formation of explosive mixture and flowrate control, which are helpful to avoid and reduce the electrostatic fire and explosion accidents.
