Reasons and solutions of SCADA communication interruption in Mohe-Daqing Crude Oil Pipeline

  • Frequent interruption of SCADA system communication in Mohe-Daqing Crude Oil Pipeline posed severe threats to its safe operation. Based on the communication interruption information of Mohe-Daqing Crude Oil Pipeline, the proportional distribution and characteristics of communication interrupt duration and type are statistically analyzed. The results show that the communication interruption of 2 hr to 12 hr is highest in frequency, accounting for 44.3% of the total number of interruption. Communication interruption reasons of Mohe-Daqing Crude Oil Pipeline are discussed, of which weather factors and equipment failure are the main ones, resulting in a total of 74.4% communication interruption duration. In order to decrease the communication interruption frequency, 4 management measures are put forward according to the operation status of the pipeline, reinforce weather monitoring and in-site management, make contingency plan, complete the pipeline protection procedure, carry out maintenance and repair work actively, and promote cutting and connecting and testing of fiber optic cable for south Jiagedaqi.
