Abstract
Suspension cable crossing projects are mostly built across valleys and rivers, but the construction conditions of both sides of valleys and rivers are complicated, seldom meeting the requirements of symmetric installation. To solve this problem, an asymmetric method for bridge installation of suspension cable is proposed. The stress of crossing structure during asymmetric construction is analyzed by simulation. According to construction cables, the hoisting process and pre-bias measures are optimized and the installation of bridge is finished. By the construction of suspension cable crossing project for China-Myanmar Pipeline, the installation of bridge from one side to another is realized and the stress status of structure during bridge installation is reasonable, the alignment of bridge also meet the design requirements. The implementation of this technique proves that asymmetric installation technique can meet the installation and construction requirements of bridges in special terrains and successfully solve the problem that symmetric method has high requirements on construction sites, moreover, achieving good economic benefit and social benefit.
