A new noise reduction device for gas compressor station

  • Based on the present situation of serious noise pollution in gas pipeline station, the paper analyzes the general situation of noise reduction devices for oil and/gas pipeline at home and abroad. According to the noise producing mechanism in gas compressor stations, 7 different types of new noise reduction devices have been developed, and their design principles include increasing baffle behind the pressure regulating valve of pipeline and installing fairing behind the baffle, regulating the distribution of speed flow field at the pressure regulating valve, eliminating turbulence, eddy current and shock wave of gas, therefore reducing the noise at pressure regulating valve, manifold and elbow. This device's structure mainly consists of noise eliminating section, rectifier section and connecting flange gasket, suitable for the pneumatic noise producing positions like valve, manifold and reduced pipe section, can be installed inside the pipe through flange. The device has advantages such as easy assemble and disassemble, low cost, and no limit to valve types. From the field application of East Station of Wuhan in Zhong-Wu Gas Pipeline of West-to-East Gas Pipeline, the results shows that this device can reduce noise of oil pipeline by 20~30 dB, making the noise lower than relative emission standard inland, and ensuring the health of the employees in the station physically and mentally.
