Development and application of three-phase automatic metering device for high gas-liquid ratio wells

  • It is difficult to accurately measure the parameters of high gas-liquid ratio wells due to their high gas-liquid ratio and poor operation stability. To solve the problem, a three-phase automatic metering device for metering high gas-liquid ratio has been developed. The device with two stage separator and cyclone pre-separator double entry design has good separating effect and high anti-volatility. The device is small in size and skid-mounted and can be mounted on vehicle or installed in field, allowing its application in a wider range of conditions. With RTU as the data control module in the control system, the metering process is fully automatic without manual control, and GPRS date transmission module allows the remote transmission of metering data to a central server. Based on connecting pipe theory and equipped with precise liquid level meter, the liquid production and water content can be measured simultaneously. The field application on high gasliquid ratio wells, low gas-liquid ratio wells and intermittent wells shows that the high gas-liquid ratio three-phase automatic metering device is not only stable and highly accurate, but also adaptable to special working condition of intermittent wells. The relative errors of gas production, liquid production and water content measured are less than 10%, 2% and 5%respectively.
