Calculation of soil temperature along buried oil and gas pipeline

  • Based on the unsteady heat conduction theory in half space, the soil temperature calculation model for deep buried pipeline was established to solve the problem of soil temperature calculation at a certain depth. According to the porosity and density of clay, light loam, sand, gravel, medium loam and heavy loam, the calculation methods of thermal conductivity and volumetric heat capacity of soil under flooding, wet, drought and desert environments were studied. The values of thermal conductivity and volumetric heat capacity of soil in the soil temperature calculation model were determined. The comparison between the calculated results and the measured ones shows that this model can calculate the value of soil temperature accurately based on soil texture, water content, annual average temperature, maximum temperature and minimum temperature.
