Security issues on LNG storage

LNG with ultra-low temperature, flammable and combustible propterties is quite different from other fluid media, posing great challenges to safety in its storage. So, the formation mechanism and preventive measures of layer roll and geyser of LNG are presented in this article, as well as the security injecting process and the pressure control method of LNG. A series of comprehensive safety issues that the low temperature of LNG could bring about are analyzed, and necessary precautions are put forward. Safety issues over the LNG tank area are discussed, and comprehensive safety and fire prevention suggestions are proposed. The research results are instructive to the safety storage and production of LNG.
