Abstract
Active carbon adsorption method is a way most widely used in domestic tankfarm for light hydrocarbons recovery, and oil and gas adsorption metering is the core and basis for switching control of the recovery unit, and thepremise to ensure the normal operation of the unit. The paper introduces several commonly used oil and gas adsorptionmetering methods for this kind of recovery unit, including calculating adsorption from inlet flowrate and concentration, calculating adsorption with inlet and extraction flowrate, estimating adsorption according to the oil delivery signal of fillingpipe and so on. Also, it states the working principles and calculation methods of different metering ways and the advantagesand disadvantages of them, and presents the problems that happen in the actual application of each method and the solutionsto them. A comprehensive comparison of these metering measures shows that installing ultrasonic vortex flowmeters in inletand outlet lines of light hydrocarbons recovery unit can realize accurate measurement and control and make sure the stableoperation of the unit while reducing cost.
