Pipeline maintenance and repair methods in frozen soil and boggy areas

In order to improve the emergency repair capacity for pipelines in frozen soil and boggy areas, according to the characteristics of frozen soil and boggy areas, the paper puts forward a series of methods for pipeline maintenance and rush repair, including digging canals and arranging hurdles, dragging pontoon, color plate road and caisson support. Among them, the method of arranging surrounding oil hurdle, by digging 2 or more layers of canals, digging oil collecting pits between layers and pumping the collected oil to the oil storage bursa for recycling is used at home and abroad for the very frst time. In view of such characteristic of frozen soil and boggy areas as rich vegetation and strong bearing capability, a kind of land boat is manufactured, to solve the problem of the access of heavy-duty equipment to the site. A new foldable steel caisson developed according to the actual need of maintenance and rush repair, foldable and easy to transport, can effectively support and fx the operating pits and proof water. The feasibility of the series of method has been verifed in the drill of maintenance and rush repair in boggy areas of Mohe-Daqing Oil Pipeline.
