Practical rapid plugging technology for the pipeline of oil tankfarm

  • In order to reduce the leakage loss of oil tankfarm and ensure its safety, the study on rapid emergency plugging technology for the oil pipeline of oil tankfarm is very meaningful. Based on multiple tankfarm pipeline features such as short distance, small diameter, multiple turnings and many accessories, this paper comparatively analyzes the existing pipeline plugging technologies, puts forth rapid emergency plugging methods adaptive to oil tankfarm integrated with main forms and plugging requirements of tankfarm pipeline damages, and comes to conclusions that based on field cases, aiming at general leakage problems, including pipeline rupture, valve aging and flange surface leakage, better to choose pressurized injectants for pipeline sealing and plugging. For small low pressure leakage, steel strapping technology shall be applied to achieve rapid pipeline plugging, and composite fiber repair and plugging technology is proposed to promote in tankfarm pipeline plugging because of widespread adaptivity and construction simplicity.
