Remote diagnostic function of ultrasonic gas flowmeter used in Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline

  • Based on the site application of ultrasonic gas flowmeter, significance for realizing the remote diagnosis function is analyzed and core diagnosis indicators are listed, including flow rate characteristics, sound velocity characteristics, sound channel signal quality, sound channel gain value and sound channel SNR. Setting requirements of the remote diagnosis system are discussed. System functions include indication of operating state, diagnosis and remote management for ultrasonic flow meter, flow computer, pressure transmitter, temperature transmitter, gas chromatography analyzer and other equipments in the site metering station. As shown from application practices of Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline, remote diagnosis of the ultrasonic gas flowmeter can timely notify working state of the flow meter to operators, thus effectively monitoring the flow meter, timely adopting prevention measures and reducing occurrence probability of measurement failure to improve operation efficiency and reduce operating costs.
