The application of PLC in the installation of heat shrinkable sleeve in field coating for welded joint

  • According the problem existing in the installation of heat shrinkable sleeve in field coating for welded joint with torch system heating, a set of special tools for the installation, the electronically controlled infrared heating equipment, is designed, and PLC will be used in the infrared heating control system of heat shrinkable sleeve. Tests indicate that the equipment can realize program-controlled heating process for the heating of heat shrinkable sleeve, heating automation of heat shrinkable sleeve and 360° uniform heating, thus basically eliminate the local unbonding, hollowing and other defects due to torch system heating. PLC-based electrically controlled infrared heating equipment can improve the quality and efficiency of installation of heat shrinkable sleeve in field coating for welded joint, and extend the service life of pipeline, and enhance the corrosion control quality of long-distance pipelines.
