Laboratory evaluation method of buried pipeline AC corrosion

  • In light of the problem that AC corrosion evaluation of buried pipeline could only rely on AC and DC parameters measured in the field without sound accuracy for a long term, an experimental evaluation method is proposed for AC interference corrosion of buried pipeline. AC interference signals of actual pipeline measured in the field and soil samples taken around the pipeline are used to carry out a wide-range AC corrosion simulated experiment to evaluate real corrosion risks for the buried pipeline under the field AC interference conditions. Research results show that symmetric circuit and digital signal processing technique can be used to accurately simulate the corrosion rate of actual pipeline under the conditions of AC corrosion and cathodic protection in the laboratory. AC interference corrosion weightlessness experiment covering the field measurement data can achieve corrosion risk evaluation and representation of buried pipeline AC interference in the laboratory to the maximum extent.
