Drag reduction agent injection program in Loumeng Diesel Pipeline

  • Loumeng Diesel Pipeline is a link pipeline between QingdaoPEC and Sifang Oil Tankfarm, whose diesel takes less than 2 hours to arrival at the terminal station from the initial station. A normal drag reduction agent (DRA) injection process can not meet expected drag reduction and high throughput requirements, so it is required to explore an applicable DRA injection program. Based on inspirations from small indoorevaluation loop test process and laboratory test results of DRA, pipelining diesel is used to dissolve or dilute DRA to solution with massvolume ratio ranging from 0.3% to 1% in advance, which is then injected into the pipeline to work rapidly so as to increase throughput of Loumeng Pipeline. This method can be promoted to short-distance pipelines, terminal loading and unloading pipeline, etc., of demonstration significance.
