Comparison and selection of 3LPE field coating material for welded joints of pipeline

  • In order to provide references to the selection of 3LPE field coating material for welded joints of pipeline, three kinds of joint coatingmaterials are compared through parameter comparison, cost analysis and site excavation inspection and other means from the materialproperties, material costs, operating efficiency, construction characteristics, actual use effects and other aspects in accordance withapplications of heat shrinkable belt, liquid modified epoxy coating and cold-tangled belt for 3LPE field coating material for weldedjoints in Iraq Ahdab Oilfield surface engineering construction project, and selection for the coating materials under different applicationenvironments and usage performance requirements. The results show that although the heat shrinkable belt and cold-tangled belt can meetstandard requirements, the process is more complicated and compatibility of cathodic protection systems is poorer and there are applicationlimitations. With high strength, construction convenience and good site application effects, the modified epoxy coating can be selected inaccordance with actual project conditions.
