Comparison of TGNET and SPS in the design of YongTaiWen Gas Pipeline

  • To more accurately select the TGNET or SPS software for the process calculation of multi-gas source gas pipeline projects, based on itsapplication in YongTaiWen Gas Pipeline, qualitative analysis is carried out for similarities and differences of the two software in pipelineengineering design applications from four aspects of modeling, validation check, operation conditions and result reading, the steady-state dynamic simulation, maximum storage capacity and maximum gas transmission capacity of multi-gas source pipeline are calculated and quantitative comparison is conducted on the calculation results. In the case of the same equipment installations and parameters, calculation results of TGNET and SPS are very close, but have different characteristics, that is, TGNET subject to physical modeling and simple operation is easy to grasp and applicable to the steady-state simulation and simple dynamic simulation; SPS subject to physical and textual programming modeling and with its strong Intran file logic editing function can be imported with midline data results in segments, generate cross hatching line, view operating results at any time and adjust input parameters with good interactive performance. Based on the above analysis, it is recommended that when the import of midline results data and dynamic simulation are required, and especially when it is required to simulate complex pipe network subject to multiple logic controls, SPS software will be significantly better than TGNET software, and TGNET with simple operations should be used for process calculation in other cases.
