Ice blockage problem in the 2nd West-to-East Gas Pipeline and its solutions

  • The 2nd West-to-East Gas Pipeline can not normally run due to ice blockage. Researchers analyze the problem in Hongliu CompressorStation. Results show that the inlet gas temperature in Hongliu Compressor Station is low, the elevation of the pipeline section betweenYandun-Hongliu Compressor Station is great, and the increase of pipeline throughput is the main reason for ice blockage. Solutions to the ice blockage are given, such as replacement of filter elements, mixing high-temperature gas from the 1st West-to-East Gas Pipeline and alcohol injection, starting up the compressors of Yandun Compressor Station. Suggestions to prevent and treat ice blockage in the 2nd West-to-East Gas Pipeline are presented.
