The effects of shear history on the physical properties of TuHa Oils in West Pipelines

Abstract
According to the operation characteristics of West Crude Oil Pipelines in winter, the change laws of the PPD added oils′ physical properties via pipe flow shear and pump shear are studied. The results show that the set points have been significantly lowered, which can meet the needs of Shanshan Initial Station in export transportation. However, their set points are remarkably increased when they travel at Yumen Station after temperature drop, pipe flow shear and pump shear. The physical properties of TuHa Oils with PPD depend on ambient temperature interval, relative strength between the shear force of pipe flow during shearing and wax crystal molecules, and the relative strength of wax crystal molecules before and after shearing. The temperature of oil flow between Cuiling Station and Anxi Station is blow 12 ℃, pipe flow shear and pump shear force has big effect on PPD-added TuHa Oils, which makes its set point increase and physical property worse.
