Running scheme optimization for oil pipeline operated at constant temperature

  • Using the boosting data as the decision-making variable for each pump station and the total power cost of the pipeline as the objective function, an optimized mathematical model for the oil pipeline operated at constant temperature was established based on the principle of energy balance. By means of dynamic programming, taking the inlet/outlet pressure heads of pipeline as the constraints to determine the provided energy to each pump station and furthermore to get a best combination for the boosting data for each pump station of the pipeline, the optimized operation program was successfully worked out. A case, Daqing-Jinxi Oil Pipeline, was researched to determine the optimized pipeline operation condition specified in the running scheme and economic and rational running parameters were obtained. The research results can provide a technical support to the formulation of optimizing running scheme of oil pipeline.
