Safety Design for Exclusive Tunnel of LNG Unloading Pipeline

  • Two exclusive tunnels of LNG unloading pipeline (American Cove Point LNG and Japanese Ohgishima LNG) used to connect offshore unloading wharf and LNG tankfarm are introduced.Based on the general information about the two exclusive tunnels, characteristics of exclusive tunnel of unloading pipeline in Guangdong LNG Project are analyzed.5 factors to be emphatically considered in safety design are presented, interior space zoning or separating, nitrogen sealing or forced ventilation, supervising or monitoring facilities, anti-freezing measures and preventing uncontrollable spilling of LNG.It is considered that the research results can be used as a reference in design and study of domestic similar projects.
