Evolution Characteristic Analysis of Oil-Gas-Water Three-phase Flow Pattern Based on Image Processing

  • In order to study temporal and spatial evolution characteristics of oil-gas-water three-phase flow pattern, a high-speed dynamic camera is utilized to acquire dynamic images of six typical oil-gas-water three-phase flow patterns in vertical upward pipes.A second histogram is used to extract time-varying parameters on texture structures of flow pattern dynamic images, and two complexity measurements of SE and Apen sequence of them are analyzed.Study result shows that dynamic parameter evolution trends of flow pattern image characteristics describe the variation of different flow pattern structures and that of dynamics characteristics, and energy characteristic is more effective to reflect the dynamic characteristics of flow pattern's evolution.Meanwhile, a proposed dynamic image analysis method is helpful to understand the flow pattern temporal and spatial evolution characteristics and also is an effective approach to making characterized analysis of the oil-gas-water three-phase flow patterns.
